The Right Honourable Phyrne Fisher returns to Australia to resolve unfinished business going back to her childhood but ends up starting her own detective agency.
Episode 1 Cocaine Blues
Phyrne Fisher arrives back in Australia after living in England for many years. She accepts an invitation to lunch from an old friend and her husband. But the lunch is cancelled when the husband is found dead. The police suspect it was natural causes but Phyrne thinks it was murder so sets out to investigate.
Episode 2 Murder on the Ballarat Train
Phryne has purchased a new car and has to travel by train to collect it. Just as she is beginning to wonder how to fill her time on the journey a woman with many enemies is found murdered.
Episode 3 The Green Mill Murder
While meeting a friend in a night club Phyrne witnesses a man being murdered, when her friend is suspected of the murder she starts investigating. But murder is not the only thing involved in the case when it turns out there is a good many suspects in the case.
Episode 4 Death at the Victoria Dock
Phryne witnesses a murder while discussing a case with a potential client whose daughter has gone missing. As the investigations continue into the murder Phyrne finds herself getting involved with communists and illegal activities.
Episode 5 Raisins and Almonds
Phryne investigates when a body is found in a book shop. At first the victim is suspected of dying from an epileptic fit but when the police start their snooping, they find he was murdered. When an employee is arrested for the murder, Phryne gets mixed up with Zionists and political causes in her pursuit to find the real killer.
Episode 6 Ruddy Gore
Phyrne is asked to investigate a series of spooky occurrences in a theatre but when a murder occurs she suspects that there is a human touch behind all the incidents. During her investigations she meets a mysterious Asian man but the attraction could turn out to be a dangerous encounter.
Episode 7 Murder in Montparnasse
An old friend from France arrives in Australia and pays a visit to Phyrne, her stay evokes memories of the time Phyrne stayed in France and found love. But when strange things start happening, Phyrne starts to think that her friend has sinister motives for showing up in Melbourne. Meanwhile when a friend of Bert is knocked down and killed, he asks Phyrne to investigate the case. Bert suspects a bookie that they crossed is behind the incident. But Phyrne is shocked to discover that what is going on is connected to what happened in France all those years ago.
Episode 8 Away With the Fairies
When a writer for a popular magazine dies suddenly, Phyrne is called on to investigate when she finds out that a teacher from her school days also works for the magazine. At first she cannot find a motive for the murder but when another writer dies, Phyrne is convinced that the deaths are in connection with what is going on in the magazine. Meanwhile Phyrne gets an unexpected visit from her boyfriend’s future wife.
Episode 9 Queen of the Flowers
Phyrne offers to help Jane and a few of her friends prepare for a local festival dinner. But Phyrne is thrown into a case when one of them ends up dead. But they are even more shocked to discover that the girl was pregnant at her time of death. Meanwhile everyone is shocked when Jane’s mother arrives at the house. But Jane’s life is put in danger when she tries to spent more time with her mother.
Episode 10 Death by Miss Adventure
When a friend of Dr Mac’s dies, she asks Phyrne to investigate but her investigations are hampered at every turn by the owners of the factory where the friend was murdered. So with the police not allowing Phyrne on the premises they send in Dot undercover to gather information about the murder. Meanwhile Phyrne is intrigued when she receives a letter from Murdock Foyle asking her to visit him on prison where he will give her more information about the disappearance of her sister if she asks the authorities to give him leniency on his prison sentence.
Episode 11 Blood and Circuses
Phyrne revisits a past life when she is asked by a friend to investigate a death in a circus, to get to the truth she goes undercover working in the circus and it is not too long before memories she would rather forget comes flooding back. Meanwhile when Detective Robinson refuses to work on the case for fear of stepping on people’s toes, he has to rely on Hugh to keep him informed of the situation but finding a murderer is the last thing on the mind of the officer assigned to the case. As her investigation continues she learns there is a connection with the culprit and her nemesis Murdoch Foyle. But when Robinson gives Phyrne bad news, she feels that she will never get the truth of what happened to her sister.
